Self Glory

In between the F1 experience and Rainism last weekend, I managed to squeeze in time to watch Morning Glory. An uplifting story where out of her job, Rachel McAdams’ character, was given a new task to revamp a dying morning show and in the end has to decide whether to stick to the show or move on to her dream job working at a bigger network station, doing the number one show. With remarkable casts, the movie was a joyful watch.

So the movie really at the end ask you the same (repeated) question, will you make the choice of staying status quo or move on?

In deciding you always need to balance the both.

1. Will you be content to stay?
2. Will the new gig satisfy you? and
3. Will change be better than just a mere improvement?

The last question is a real haunt. You can easily change your wardrobe to a new one, but you need guts and extra skills to improve an existing garment, as an example.

With money in hand you can just go into a store and buy a new clothe to replace the old one you have. But to improve it, you need styling and the right accessories with an end result always making you wonder, will the old garment has a new impact or just fizzles as an old one.

So in life, you can simply grab your things and change job, move to a new apartment or even get a new date in your life. As hard as that may seem and only dear time will know how it will go, it is always tougher to improve in your job field, redecorate and refurbish your apartment or learn new tricks to make your date last.

Change or improve, only you can decide, ya know?!

Safety Pins

Who said that safety pins are only used to hold up diapers? Anna Paquin was seen at Scream 4's LA Premiere with this look from Cusnie et Ochs.

This is reminisce of a few looks over the year which was hold up using only a pin, or in this case, pins.

Paris Hilton

Liz Hurley with the legendary Versace

and this look by Dixie Chicks at the 1999 Grammys (which took me quite some time, finding).

Pin up people!!!

Crane Couture

Selebrities seem to love Givenchy Spring 2011 collection. Inspired by Japanese culture (isn't it too obvious?!), many has parlayed the couture during their recent outings. From Carine Roitfield, former editor of French Vougue, at an AMFAR event, Florence from the Machine at this year's Grammys, Cate Blanchett at the Oscars and latest, Beyonce spotting the look for her soon-to-be released music video. Splendid!

The Monster Covers Harper's Bazaar May 2011

I really don't get why some people, Lady Gaga to be specific, wants to look monster like in life? With the protruding forehead and shoulders, she sure looks gory, borderline to WTH?!. Who can forget the entrance during her red carpet at the Grammys? She eerily arrived in an egg!

For those who dreams of emulating her, please think twice, or even more.

While for those who are heads over heal for her, read the full interview here and don't forget to buy the mag for your collection, occay!

Here's a blow up of the pic:

F1 Sepang for Dummies

This is a follow up entry from the previous post. If you are like me who got free tickets to the F1 and know squat of the sport and its venue, here is some tips you can learn off.

The Way There

1. The circuit is the next door neighbor to KLIA and LCCT in Sepang, so, as long as you are heading in that direction, you would not get lost.
2. The first 2 days are for trainings and qualifying rounds. If you’re lucky, maybe the organizer will throw you in some grand prix for your amusement. Usually attendance during both days will be lesser, so for the final day, better get there early if you want to avoid the massive traffic.
3. The moment before you head there, identify your parking spot and your seating place to ease the whole experience, throughout.

The Expectation There

1. You can easily be transported from the Grandstand entrance to other seating venue using the shuttle service.
2. You can buy merchandise from the organizer and the racing team there. The price wouldn’t be cheap, though. Even Ferrari plastic rain poncho cost RM125!
3. You need to bring extra cash, if you are local, as the food is a bit expensive. No need to worry for the amenities, toilets are everywhere with mussola at strategic places for your usage.

The Experience There

1. It will be up to your interest and seat, how the experience will be measured. However, the newbie that I am with a grandstand ticket in hand, the memory is quite remarkable.
2. It will be foolish if you did not spend some money to buy a good ear plug as the sound from the roaring engine is deafening! You can also spend to get a head piece with multiple language commentary of the race there. The headpiece can later be used as a normal radio.
3. It is a must to wear light clothing as the weather will be tad hot. The seating arena is strangely cool there, but to get from one place to another, you are at the mercy of the sun. Bring an umbrella if you can, not just to shade, but also to prepare if it rains.

All is said, sorry if any of the info is misleading; I’m still a rookie, none the less.
